Yesterday, Saturday November 30th 2024, I was invited by Jose Elias (owner of Michelangelo Eventos) to come out and see the first, (of what are hopefully many) Culture Night/Salsa Dancing/Small Business Networking events here in Cornwall, ON, Canada. It was so much fun, as vendors handed out free glow in the dark sticks, shutter shades, and stickers for the dance party that followed. The event started in the afternoon, I arrived around 6.15pm and it continued on long past midnight. The turnout was huge, I was there on a mixture of pleasure, and business, and I was able to meet many great community business owners. Some people I already knew, some I had heard of but never met before. Alcohol and snacks, as well as meals were available to purchase. There were over 20 vendors according to Jose. Who parked his luxury sports car inside the hall, along with another fancy exotic vehicle. (Feel free to comment in the comment section below if you know which models they were!) Maclaren and Porsche are the brands…
There was a Salsa dance competition with a cash prize, judging panel, and shots of spirits were given to the runners up! The hosts were energetic from both Michelangelo Eventos, and LOL Entertainment. After the competition everyone could get up to dance and fiesta all night long!
Different vendors included Afro beauty and hair extension companies, custom computer builders, car detailers, vinyl wraps for vehicles, custom shirts, and more. I grabbed many business cards, and also handed out quite a few myself. For those who don’t know I DJ, perform and sing my own music, videography services, photography, and much more. I also help design websites for clients of all kinds.
Event organizer, Jose Elias, spent a good portion of his life in Cornwall, ON before moving away to work on his business goals, and dreams. Now he’s back where he calls home, to help inspire and promote the up-coming, and already successful people in the community that he calls his home. He has a plan to reopen his nightclub, Viva La Fiesta, in the new year.
The event is was a huge success, I’m so excited to work with Mr. Elias, in the future, be it entertainment related or otherwise. I love the effort he is making in the community to do something exciting, and ambitious. He hopes to make these networking events a regular thing, and I do believe after the success of last night, that things will continue to grow from here.
Muchos gracias Jose, and his talented team, events sponsors, entertainers, and the patrons who came out to show support, and most importantly have a good time!
Until next time…
James
